Screening of the documentary “A Dog’s Life” by Maria Slough

The documentary “A Dog’s Life – The Strays of Sarajevo” directed by Maria Slough sheds light on the situation of stray dogs in Bosnia & Herzegovina. British actor and animal rights activist  Peter Egan and veterinarian  Roger Bralow travelled to Sarajevo to highlight the widespread animal cruelty and low level of animal rights in Bosnia & Herzegovina. The documentary follows the incredible work of Milena Maleševic who has managed to save more than 1000 dog in the past ten years.

The documentary will be screened on 30th January at the European Parliment in Brussels. The screening will be hosted by Croatian MEP Davor Škrlec, with the support of the Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals and Eurogroup for Animals.  The event aims to highlight the need for better animal protection laws in Eastern European countries, and an expert panel will explore possible options for the human management of the stray animal population.
