As volunteers for Saving Suffering Strays Sarajevo, the non-profit organisation which supports Milena’s work, and as adopters of Bosnian street dogs ourselves, we simply couldn’t be more passionate about this amazing cause, and we wanted to do something equally amazing to show our gratitude for all the work Milena does by raising money for those she loves best – the dogs themselves! That’s where the three peaks challenge comes in!!! On midsummer’s day, 21st June 2018, we will attempt to walk the three highest peaks in the UK in just one 24 hour period! The first, Ben Nevis in Scotland, is the highest of the three at an altitude of 4, 413ft, and with its steep inclines and long ascent, it’s certainly no mean feat! When completed, we will then hop on our mini-bus and embark on a 6-hour journey to take on the next peak, Scafell Pike, in Cumbria, England. At an altitude of 3, 209ft, it may be the smallest of the three peaks we will be climbing, but some believe the terrain to be the most challenging of all!
Finally, we will embark on our final leg of the journey – a drive of a further 5 hours to Snowdon, Gwynedd, Wales, in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. At 3560 ft, Snowdon makes for a gruelling finish with even a scramble here and there thrown in! We are, however, absolutely determined to complete this challenge in the 24 hour period and raise desperately needed funds for Saving Suffering Strays Sarajevo!
